A gyro or gyros

Is a Greek dish made from meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie.
It is derived from the lamb-based doner kebab. In Greece it is prepared most often with pork or chicken, whilst beef, chicken, and lamb are common in other countries. It is typically served wrapped or stuffed in a pita, along with ingredients such as tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce.


Our Story

The Sub Place was founded by two brothers George Liritzis and John Liritzis. Τheir love for Greek cuisine, pushed them to create the “Submarine Place” and to serve in their own special way the Greek delicacies to the wonderful people of North Bay.

The business was closed down for 4 months and reopened in a new location on November 11, 2010 at 955 Mckeown Ave #3a .

The love of the people and the special way to make their products stand out have endured over time and have been with you for 42 years.

Τhe store as a traditional family business now operates under the management of the younger members of the family.  A worthy continuation of the Greek traditional cuisine of The Sub Place, promises to stand next to the customer who loved our products, as George and John did for so many years.
